The pop star whose divorce from Jessica Simpson was final last year has proposed to Vanessa Minnillo (our guess is he did so on New Years Eve in NYC) and Vanessa has been telling friends to keep April free according to the National Enquirer magazine. A source told them "They're plans for a April wedding is moving forward. They will probably marry south of the border being they both love Baja in Mexico and it's also where the couple first fell in love. When Nick and Jessica married it was a fancy Texan wedding with all the trimmings. They soon starred in the popular MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica. It also was Jessica's father Joe Simpson who came up with the idea for the MTV series. This time Nick wants a simple low-key affair. Lachey,33, whose seperation from Jessica became public in late 2006 began dating the 26-year-old Vanessa Minnillo last summer. And Jessica Simpson, also 26 is now dating John Mayer who some believe is just doing so to make Nick jealous. The source said: Nick knew Vanessa is the one for a long time. At first she held out mainly because his divorce from Jessica wasn't final yet but she knew Nick was the key to her happiness. Now that Jessica is out of the picture for good, Vanessa has got Nick right where she wants him.
