Joe Simpson To Manage Britney Spears Career?

Jessica Simpson's father, Joe Simpson is considering managing Britney Spears career like he has done for daughter's Jessica and Ashlee according to a source for The New York Daily News. Her father has criticized her lately and she may need a new father figure in her life, but Joe Simpson also had upset the Britney Spears clan last month by claiming his daughters will never be in rehab making this very unlikely. The NY Daily News claims Joe Simpson even tried to arrange a meeting with Spears over the weekend. Jessica Simpson's representative Cindi Berger denies it.

There doesn't appear to be a rivalry between the two pop singers anymore with Jessica even offering to call Britney and help with the arrangement claimed the source. While Jessica Simpson's record sales from her five albums were lukewarm, Britney Spears has made over $100 million from records and endorsements. But Joe Simpson has steered Jessica into movies like Employee of the Month and Blonde Ambition and some lucrative appearances like hosting the Pussycat Dolls performance next week at Pure in Las Vegas. And Ashlee Simpson has two No. 1 singles on the Billboard music charts.
Joe's daughter's are grateful of their father's efforts, last month Jessica bought Joe a Ferrari and Ashlee said Joe is "a wonderful man." Some insiders credit Joe for his guidance and for helping his daughters avoid the excesses that sent Britney Spears to rehab at the urging of her family, doctors and manager, Larry Rudolph. Spears, attributing her behavior to postpartum depression, left rehab and fired Rudolph, for which her estranged father, Jamie, blasted her last week.

The managing job remains open. A Spears spokesperson wouldn't comment.
