Jessica Simpson at Cannes Film Festival

Jessica Simpson is at the 60th annual Cannes Film Festival held in Cannes, France from May 16 until May 27th. Although were not sure why Jessica is there unless to help promote her Blonde Ambition movie. Jessica's first stop in Cannes was at My Blueberry Nights After Party where these pictures were taken. No word yet on whether John Mayer, who has won Joe Simpson's approval, will be joining Jessica, or on how long Jessica plans on staying in France.

"If Jessica is in love, I love the things she is in love with," Joe Simpson told PEOPLE Magazine on Tuesday in New York City at the Box. "I want her to be happy. I'm always a fan of his. I love him, he's got great music. I think the beautiful thing is that (John and Jessica) don't do the same thing. He's a legend already. There is no competition. He's a guitarist, that's his thing. Jessica is a singer. She doesn't play guitar, so there's no competition."

Isn't John Mayer a singer also, Joe? Isn't Jessica more of an actress now than a singer? Guess Joe forgot to mention that. Jessica will be busy next month when filming of Major Movie Star starts. Perhaps she's just going to sing in that movie, which we doubt.

Jessica addicted to shopping

Jessica Simpson is addicted to shopping according to boyfriend, John Mayer. Mayer, who recently said he wants everybody to make small changes to help curb global warming, figures if he can slow down Jessica with her shopping, the reduction in shopping bags alone from her expensive habit will help the environment.

Jessica's shop til you drop lifestyle is costing her as much as $100,000 a month. according to MSNBC, John Mayer has decided to help Jessica with her addiction. "When John saw Jessica's closet, he was amazed." said a close friend. "He didn’t know anyone who had that many clothes." With Mayer's love and his helping her find new hobbies, Simpson is cutting her shopping back to a once-a-month habit. No wonder Jessica didn't have a problem buying Joe Simpson a dream Ferrari, just another shopping day for her.
