I Belong To Me Video by Jessica Simpson

I Belong to Me is the second video released from the A Public Affair album by Jessica Simpson. The video was produced after fans chose I Belong to Me as the second single to be released by voting on Jessica's website. The song was originally not included on the A Public Affair album and was only released on special versions sold at Walmart.

The video for I Belong to Me was shown as a "sneak-peek" on MTV's Total Request Live on October 4th, 2006 and debuted on October 11th. The video ranked as number eight on the TRL countdown on October 12th. It went as high as the number four spot before falling off the charts. The video was directed by Matthew Rolston who had previously worked with Jessica as the director for her Angels video in 2004.

The music used in the video is slightly different than the music on the album, primarily in the instrumental parts. It features mostly upper body singing shots of Jessica. There are also scenes of her walking through a house which she appears to have recently moved into. Jessica goes into the bathroom wearing only underwear and a tshirt, cuts her hair with nail scissors, and puts on makeup and a tiara. She later takes off the tiara and washes the makeup off her face. Jessica says that the song is about a relationship she was in recently, which she described as "amazing." The video showcases Jessica's vocal talents while furthering the themes of independence and empowerment which have appeared in her latest works.
